Thanks, everybody. You came, you engaged, you contributed. And you made WordCamp Atlanta 2018 a success.

How come school was never this much fun? Or, put another way, why would over 600 people skip their well-deserved weekend to stream into classes they weren’t required to take?

Clearly something else was going on here. It might be going too far to call it magical. But it was pretty special. You were there. You felt it too. That’s what it’s like to be part of a community.

In the days ahead, we’ll all digest the lessons, and explore the resources we found out about. In the months ahead, we’ll continue our education and community engagement at local WordPress Meetups. And in the year ahead, we’ll make plans to attend other WordCamps, including WordCamp Atlanta 2019 next spring.

Til then, the WCATL organizers want to thank everyone for bringing and sharing their unique perspectives. Together, we all embody the creative diversity that’s at the heart and soul of the WordPress world.

Welcome back for the final day of WordCamp Atlanta

Sometimes, when you go to camp, it rains. Luckily, WCATL is all indoors. Even better, there’s another full day of amazing sessions, fun networking, and Happiness Bar wisdom to take advantage of before we all return to, well, real life.

Yesterday’s informative and insightful programs, as well last night’s WC After Party, were both huge successes. But of course you knew that – you were there. The Graffiti Wall displayed the unique creative instincts of WordPressers. And attendees discovered how our sponsoring companies can help make them better at what they do. Let’s build on that momentum today.

Thanks to Our Awesome Sponsors!

Simply put, without the generous support of our sponsors, WordCamp Atlanta would not be affordable to many people in the WordPress community. For just $20/day our attendees gain insight from our speakers, network with others, and learn more about the open source WordPress project whose mission is to democratize publishing through Open Source, GPL software.

We’re fortunate to have sponsors who understand the value of contributing to the community by focusing on sharing knowledge.

Please visit each sponsor and thank them personally, both at WCATL and on social media. To learn more about our sponsors, visit our sponsor page.

Sessions and Schedule

You don’t have to miss any sessions at WordCamp

With so many great sessions to choose from this weekend, inevitably you’ll see two at the same you’ll want to attend. No worries – simply attend one in person, and watch the other one later.

Every talk at WordCamp Atlanta will be recorded and posted on WordPress.tv in the coming weeks. In fact, you can even go back and see all of the talks from the past six years: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012.

Sure, attending a live talk, and being able to participate in question and answer time, is invaluable. But knowing you’ll be able to catch up with the other talks you missed is a great way to get the widest range of information, insight and ideas from all the smart presenters at WordCamp Atlanta.

Connecting through Slack

Slack has become a powerful tool to help like-minded people stay in touch, and the WordPress community is no different. You can connect with the global WordPress community through this Slack team, but you can also use the WordCamp Atlanta Slack team to keep up with everything throughout the weekend.

If you’ve registered in past years, simply go to wcatl.slack.com to sign back in and to rejoin the conversation. If you’ve never been a part of our Slack team before, then just head over to this page to get signed up first.

You can use Slack through your laptop browser, or down their app for Android or iOS. If you’re already a member of a different Slack team, you can add as many as you want to the app so you can quickly switch between them.

See you on Slack!

Enjoy the food

The Loudermilk Center is a wonderful venue for WordCamp. It’s big enough to handle all 650 of our new friends, but intimate enough that we’re not getting lost inside of a massive conference center.

Perhaps even better is their food. When you arrive each morning, we’ll have fresh brewed coffee and assorted herbal teas available to you. Loudermilk provides you with two delicious lunches (three if you join us for Friday), and various snacks in the afternoons with items such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, cookies and granola bars.

When you registered for WordCamp, you indicated your meal preference and we have you covered. If you chose a vegetarian option, we’ll have those available to you. Please do your best to stick with your desired food option so that we have the right amounts available for everyone, and please only take one main lunch item on your way through the line to ensure plenty of food for all.

Come ready to learn, and we’ll make sure to keep you well fed!

WCATL Take-Aways

What will you take away from WordCamp Atlanta?

Well, you’ll probably learn a few new things from the amazing speakers.

And it’s almost certain you’ll meet some new people who share your passion for WordPress just walking around.

You might even find the solution to that problem you’ve been trying to solve in the Happiness Bar.

That’s all fine and dandy, but let’s talk about the REAL stuff you’ll take home – the SWAG!
